Thanks for the info Ralph,
I have looked at the IFHF but as you suggest and as you say there is no record in the 12 parishes of Michael McDermott B. 1841. In the two census records in Glossop Michael gives his birth as 1841. The six records are of course possables but I think that I need to find a marriage record for Michael Mcdermott and Johanna Sheen before I can narrow it down to any one of these six records. Unforunately I have no idea when they married. I think it was before 1871 because their son Michael was born then and in census Michaels relationship to Johanna is given as wife but I don't know when or where and if it was in Waterford then I wont be able to search there yet.
