Your Luke Murray sounds very similar to my great-great-great grandfather. This is what I have on him:
Name: Luke Murray
Born: 1822 Roscommon, Ireland
Immigrated: March 1846, to the US
Lived in Murrayville, West Virginia with family for a time
Married: Ann Loughan (b. 1838 in Roscommon, Ireland also)
They had 6 children while living in West Virginia (including a son, John born 1857)
They moved to Providence, RI and had at least 5 more kids.
Most of the children worked in a cotton mill, per the 1880 Census.
Luke died in 1899. Service may have been held at St. Theresa Catholic Church @ 18 Pope St. in Providence.
He's buried in St. Francis Cemetary , Smithfield Ave., Pawtucket, RI (I haven't visited but will get to next week).
A lot of the details seem similar, but not quite matching.
Luke's son John was my great-great-grandfather. I know his middle name was Baptist and that he married Katherine Trainor and had three children, Edmund, Mary, and Anna.
I don't know if that's at all helpful, but at least very interesting that the names and dates are so close.
