John, Thanks for your reply. It is no big surprise that I had a great uncle named John, but I also had great aunts named Ellen, Mary, and Bridget. Mary is the only one of this generation that I met, she died when I was about 4 or 5, in 1940 or so. Ellen (Nellie) is on the 1900 census with her father John, the 1910 census with sisters Kate and Bridget, and the 1920 census with my gfather Matt and 5 of his children: Frank, William, Catherine, John, and Mary (all of whom I knew). Nellie died about 1925 and Matt died in 1928. The only way I know Ellen's actual given name is from Irish records, since she always reported it as Nellie on census data in the States. She was the oldest of John's children, born in Nov, 1864, and Mary is the next oldest, born Jun, 1866. I only discovered Bridget a few weeks ago, listed as John's daughter on the 1895 MJ census, along with Nellie, Patrick, Mary, and Kate. Thanks aqain, Dick PS If you have anything to add, please use my email (rshester@optonline.net) so we don't clutter up this forum. Notify Administrator about this message?
