The 2000 publication “History of Elphin Diocese, People, Places and Pilgrimage, by Fr. Francis Beirne, states .....the church in Fuerty, dedicated to the Assumption, was built in 1957. It replaces an earlier church, St. Kieran’s which was built in 1812-1814 by the ........
