Hello - I am trying to track down where my gggrandfather, Patrick Rutledge, was born. His Naturalization papers have his birth date as March 15, 1883, in the County of Roscommon, Ireland. He emigrated to the US in 1849 on his own (as far as we know, his family remained in Ireland). He married in Dedham Massachusetts (near Boston) in 1854. His marriage certificate lists his parents as James Rutledge and Bridget (unknown). Does anyone have any information on the Rutledge family being in County Roscommon in the early 1830's? Any ideas who I should contact for further information??
Because of oral family history, we thought Patrick was born in County Mayo, so County Roscommon is actually a surprise.
Any help is most appreciated.
