BYRNE family emigrated to Portsmouth than US

I am researching a Byrne family connection from about the 1840's. The father (a Byrne) was in the British Army/Navy and the family moved to Portsmouth England. They had two daughters that I am aware of: Winifred (later emigrated to US and married James Healy of Sligo) and Delia.
Any information would be appreciated.
