Searching for details pertaining to my Gt GranDad Hugh who as a 37 yr old widower married CATHERINE nee BOYLAN at BALLYMACHUGH R C Chapel, Co Cavan in 1867.
They had 3 children MARY, ELLEN and my Grandfather MICHAEL CARPENTER ( late of Crossdrum,Oldcastle, Co Meath)-all registered as born in the CIVIL District of TULLYSTOWN, Co Westmeath.
As Gt Grandad HUGH ( and his father before him, also named HUGH CARPENTER)-were farm labourers they may well have moved around according to where there was work to be done.
