For many years, I have been collecting references to places of origin for any and all Irish families of Paterson, Passaic County, New Jersey. The TIERNAN death notice below from the Paterson Daily Press is unusual in that it mentions a very precise place of origin for an Irish immigrant. I have no connection to the TIERNAN family and have no information about them other than what appears below. Paterson Daily Press, Thursday Evening, 16 January 1896, page 5 DEATHS TIERNAN. - In this city, on Thursday, Jan. 16th, 1896, Bernard, beloved husband of the late Catherine Tiernan, native of Edenderry, Kings County, Ireland. Relatives and friends of the family are respectfully invited to attend the funeral on Saturday, Jan. 18th, from his late residence, No. 170 Jackson street, at 7:30 o'clock a.m., and from St. Agnes' church, at 8 o'clock a.m. Interment at Holy Sepulchre. I hope this helps someone.
