Karen:

The following is information from Killanny Graveyard that may help in your research. If you haven't already discovered the frequent misspellings of Slevin . Shevlin . Shovlen . Shevelan . Shoveland in old records, it's wise to take a 2nd look rather than dismiss them.

Killanny Graveyard, Co Louth (right on the border of Co Monaghan)

SHOVELAN, Patrick [b ca 1691], d 31 Jan 1761 age 70
Shovelan, Luke [Jr.] [b ca 1769], 5 Jun 1782 age 13, gs/o Patrick
Erected by Luke Shovelan [Sr.], Carrickmacross, s/o Patrick

SHEFLAN, Philip [b ca 1699], d 1 Feb 1754 age 55
Erected by his son Daniel Sheflan
-----
Griffith's Evauation, Co Monaghan (mid-1800's)
Shoveland,Thomas -Townland: Mullanarry; CP Magheross
Shoveland, Mary -Townland: Drummond Otra: CP Magheross
Sheveland, Catherine -Townland: Kednaminsha, CP Donaghmoyne
Sheveland, Patrick - Townland: Drummacavoy, CP Donaghmoyne

Sorry there isn't more available at this time!
