My GG Grandmother was Julia (Judith) Finlay of the Castleblayney, or Raferagh area of Ireland. She was born around circa 1840's based on the birth of her children. She married Patrick Duffy. At least three of their 7 known children were born in Raferagh. The children were Mary (Mcaneny), Matthew Patrick 1865, Judith (Florence Scully)1864, John, Josephine (Bridgit) Quinn 1866, Margaret, Catherine 1869. All of the children immigrated to the US west coast around 1885, and their widowed mother, Julia Finlay later followed.

There might be a connection somewhere. Your post was the only one I could find with Finlays in the area of Castleblayney. Any information appreciated.
