Annie, I am so sorry I didn't respond to your post. I thought I'd receive an e-mail notifying me that a post had been made to my request. When I didn't receive any, I figured that no one had answered. I now know I have to keep checking in. My friend, Bobby Skillen's, great great grandparents were Hugh Skillen (Protestant) and Catherine McAveeney (Catholic). We have to find the story on that one. Catherine was born around 1863 in County Monaghan. Her father was Connor McAveeney, so that is why I am researching County Monaghan for my friend. The only ancestor that I know of to Hugh, is his father, Andrew Skillen. I have done a bit of Kilkeel work but not a lot at this time. I will try to locate Hugh Skillen and Catherine McAveeny's marriage record now. Thanks and hopefully we can stay in touch. My friend, Bobby Skillen, is in his early 60s. Bobby didn't even know the names of his grandparents although he grew up in Belfast so it's been a treasure of information that I have connected onto from many different people. I appreciate any help I receive on this family.
Joni
