Stephanie,

I'm also searching for a John FINLAY in County Monaghan. This man was the father of Martha FINLAY (born c. 1850-1860) who married John BAILEY of Castleblayney before about 1878 when daughter Jean Elizabeth Bailey was born.

John Finlay (father of Martha) would have been born c. 1810-1820 and married c. 1840-1850. His wife was said to have been a SKILLEN. These Finlays and Skillens/Skillings might have come to Co. Monaghan from Co. Down or Antrim.

If any of these names are familiar to you, please let me know.

Annie C.
