Eileen,

In the list of townlands of Ematris Parish I find Dawson Grove Demesne. (As you probably know, a demesne is a house and farm belonging to a lord and used by him.) The lord would be Richard Dawson who was the first Earl of Dartrey. These are the estates of the Dawson family family of Dawson Grove, alias Dartry, County Monaghan.
From a map I have, Dawson Grove Demesne is between Rockcorry, County Monaghan and Cootehill, County and situated in both counties.

The church records you are looking for is the Kilcrow Church of Ireland records. Three years ago the pastor told me he had sent all the old records for this parish to the Representative Church Body Library in Dublin. He did have some records in his possession at the parish house which I looked through but I am sorry I do not recall the the years these books started. The pastor has since been transferred so that I no longer have a contact person at the Kilcrow church. I hope this helps you.

Joyce Gardner
