Bowes, Robert

I have been told that my great great grandfather, Robert Bowes, was born in 1796 in Clones. It was originally said to be in County Fermanagh but a search could not find any information whatsoever. I have to believe that it was Clones in County Monaghan. He left Ireland around 1819/1820 and went to Saint John, NB, Canada where he married Catherine Quinn (also from Clones) in August of 1824.
He died in Saint John in 1866.

Any information or connections to County Monaghan will be greatly appreciated.
