BROPHY Family of Magh Sedna

Seeking information on BROPHY family. Found this article written by Frank Cullen BROPHY which says the family is an old Irish family settled in County Leix in ancient patrimony of Magh Sedna which some centuries later was anglicized to Ballybrophy. Michael BROPHY resided near Kilkenny Ireland in mid-eighteenth century. He participated in the abortive rebellion of 1783 and was one of the leaders in the tragic rebellion of 1798. Having been captured by the British regulars under General Lake in the Battle of Vinegar Hill he was executed. He left 11 sons. The family and their descendants have been traced to Australia, India, South Africa, Canada, Latin America and North America. Does anyone know where Ballybrophy or Magh Sedna is located? Any BROPHY lines recognize this information? Please reply to Joni Lee
