I have a copy of that death certificate and could easily see where Helen and Ellen were interchangeable. I was confused with the Bridget's mother's maiden name listed as Wilson but that was probably the last name of Ellen known by the family. The Wilson remarriage date of 1879 also helps verify things as Michael died in 1878. Now I have the Regan/Scanlan/Wilson relationship clear.
Bridget was my great grandmother, my grand father married daughter Letitia in 1912 in Renfrew/Glasgow. Bridget came to Canada in 1919 with daughter Victoria (then 17). Victoria married William Palmer in Hamilton, Ontario and Bridget lived with them at 110 Beach Road according to the 1921 Canada census.
Thanks all for you help in clearing this up and for the additional info on the family in Ireland.
