In Reply to: Peter Kelly 1820 Co. Dublin, parents John Kelly and Margaret Cavanaugh by beatrice whitney of 94873

Beatrice, I looked at records in co Dublin for the birth of Peter between 1805-1830 and found the following;

Births:

St Andrews
bapt:1808
father:Joannis Kelly
mother:Maria N/R
sponsor:Maria Butler

St Nicholas
bapt:29 Dec 1811
father:Petri Kelly
mother:Margae N/R
sponsors:Dudleo Mansfield/Ally Kelly

Rathfarnham
bapt:1814
father:John Kelly
mother:William N/R
sponsors:John Byrne/Eliza Seregan

St Marys Pro-Cathedral
bapt:2 July 1821
father:John Kelly
mother:Mary N/R
address:Fortea Lane
sponsors:John Kelly/Bridgt Mulvany

None of these match exact to the names you gave for Peters parents and the one in Rathfarnham has a mistake by the priest who recorded the wife's name as William.I then looked between 1800-1820 for a possible marriage of John Kelly and Margaret Cavanagh.The only marriage I could find was the following;

Marriage:

Dublin
groom:John Kelly
bride:Brigida Kavanagh
date of marriage:1802

If you want to peruse the site yourself go to www.irishgenealogy.ie where you will find church records of births,marriages and deaths for Dublin.Hope this helps,Kim
