Fellow researchers
The Registry of Deeds Index Project Ireland has reached another milestone of 120,000 index records. These records are fully searchable for free. The names indexed come from nearly 15,000 memorials of deeds. The search page is:

The Registry of Deeds has an immense number of records useful for family history research. The project helps make them more accessible to researchers. It is all about sharing information about deeds collected by the volunteer contributors.
The success of this project is due to the continuing magnificent efforts of these volunteers.Their efforts are summarised in the following page:

While 120,000 is a wonderful number it is still only scratching the surface of the task of making a complete index to the Registry of Deeds. There are millions of names mentioned in memorials.Anyone can contribute to the project by sending the webmaster spreadsheets or text documents, or by using the following web form:

I have also updated the grantors index transcriptions part of the site.
