I am trying to get some information on John Morton, who is listed in the DAR genealogy site-ancestors-number A081813. According to these records he was born in Ireland in 1729 and died 2-4-1782. His service in the Revoluntionary War is listed as: 1)mem of Comm of 100 2)del to provincal Congress. On the list of descendants is listed Jacob Morton and 1st wife is Maria Sophia Kemper. From the New Jersey Calendar of Wills, John Morton, 4 Feb 1782 will probated May 25, 1782. He was previously of New York but was now of Somerset County, New Jersey. His wife is listed as Mary Sophia and his sons: Jacob, John, James, Washington, George Clark. Daus Margaret and Elizabeth Susannah. Any information on when he came to America, his wife and children-born where? married? Thanks, Cindy
