McGeoghan or McGaffigan Co Donegal Ireland m Bernard Bradley
I have my granfathers birth certificate and it says his parents were Bernard Bradley and Mary McGeoghan. However I've received over the years information-on this board and elsewhere that says his mothers name was McGaffigan. So now I'm wondering since dates pretty much match if there is someway to get the right maiden name for Mary.
My grandfather was Patrick Bradley dob about 1864. He immigrated to MA and in 1902(April 17) in Boston marrieed Mary Ann O'Donnell dob July 28 1873, at St Peters in Dorchester(Boston) and went on to have 6 children. Patrick died in March 1931, and Mary Ann Nov 20 1958, both are buried at St Mary's in Salem Ma where they had lived since at least 1930.
Any help with Mary's maiden name would be very much appreciated.I don't know if we are talking about two different families or if transcription etc is wrong, but I am quite sure that since its on birth certificate that McGeoghan is right--just need to varify it if that is possible.
Thanks
Barb
