Patricia,if you look at the Tithe Applotment books 1814-1855 on familysearch.org in their Irish records you will see that there are quite a few Wheelers in co Cork.It gives the townland and parish of each which may be a place to start. Also,in their prison registers if you put in just the name Wheeler you will see others who have had trouble with law and there are a few born about the same time as Jane.It may be worth your while to look at LDS library parish registers or to contact various churches in those areas to see if they may help.If you know of any other family she had, possibly in Australia,it may be worth trying to trace back via them.Hope this is of use,Kim
