Hello-
James (Jas) Fagan is actually my great grandfather. He was born in 1865, died in 1918. His wife's name was actually Antionette, but went by Netti. He was actually born in NY, but his father Patrick Fagan came over from Ireland in the 1840's potato famine. He seemed to do a lot of etchings, painting and illustrating. We have some of his etchings that have been passed down thru the family. He signed many of his prints in the lower right side with Jas Fagan. In addition, he seemed to always have a small image under the etching with a small image. This must have been his signature approach.
I'd be interested if you have learned more about his work. I've been collecting new pieces as they seem to show up on the Internet.
Thanks,
Keith Fagan
