John,

Where do you get those marriage certs - through ancestry, or via film? How much do they cost?

Archives -- so-so:

UK news archives - w/a few revealing words in the free index: http://www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk

Using the term "jobber" has me considering if the father also emigrated ... English-sounding, or it's simply Mike's Eng. influence from living there in describing the occupation. I just don't see "jobbers" in 1850s Mayo.

Another researcher working on the youngest, Martin. I've emailed her to weigh in on this conversation:

And I think you should touch base with this researcher whose Conveys ended up in Philadelphia -- all the same names as yours, including Francis:

And I should have looked for the Blewitts a few other places -- Ann Convey in Northumberland by 1861 ... also in Murton where Mike & Mary Coyle are living:

Using familysearch.org and Tynemouth references:

John & Bridget Wilson have a child in Willington Quay, the same place are your Michael's children are being born:

name:        Catharina Convey

baptism/christening date:        06 Dec 1874

Is this another older sibling? James & Cath Conley a bit earlier ... but I don't see them in the 1851 census:
