My grandmother, Bridget Hogan Hickey, came into the U.S. in 1880 (at age 14) through either NY or Boston. NY is the stronger possibility. I don't believe that she had a sister Elizabeth, but I know that there were other Hogan families living in the same area of Waterford along the Blackwater River.

If Mary Hogan was married in the U.S., her civil marriage record (and most certainly a church record) will probably list her parents' names. I secured a copy of my Irish-born grandfather's death certificate, and it too lists his parents' names. Perhaps this will be of some help in your search.

I'll let you know if I find anything relating to sisters Mary and Elizabeth Hogan.
