Patrick H. McCarthy ran a hotel in Grafton, North Dakota, USA, at the time of the Territorial Census in 1885. He had married Susan Petersen 10 years or so earlier. I am interested in finding out the names of the parents of either of these folks or their marriage date - in fact, any information prior to 1885.
Patrick was born in Ireland about 1847. Susan was born in Norway about 1853 (even though this census record says she was born in Ireland).

McCarthy, Susan, 32, Ire;
McCarthy, Nancy E., 9, Dakota Terr;
McCarthy, Richard C., 7, Dakota Terr;
McCarthy, Wm., 5, Dakota Terr;
McCarthy, Gertie M., 9 mos, Sept 1884, Dakota Terr;
McCarthy, Nellie, 25 (probably Patrick's sister)
