Hi Kathrin,
I am pleased to offer you some information however limited and possibly unconnected it may be to your inquiry.

My name is Troy Tomlin and I am the great great great grandson of one Roger Scally.
I have limited information on Roger but what I do have follows below.

Roger was born in Ireland in 1825 the son of Robert who was a farmer.
I do not have his location of birth however, Roger was a carpenter by trade and on the 5th of July 1848 in LONGFORD Ireland he was convicted of burglary and robbery and was sentenced to 15 years hard labour. Convict number 2191. (Transportation to Australia.)

He arrived in Western Australia (WA) on the 19th of August 1853 aboard the ship "Robert Small".

He received a ticket of leave on the 3rd of April 1854 and was fully pardoned on the 19th of August 1864.

Roger married Winifred Skeffington in Western Australia in 1861.
Winifred was born in Ireland, exact location of birth unknown to me, in 1838 and migrated to Australia as a free person in 1860.

I have further information In relation to their family history from their marriage.

I hope some of this information helps. As you can see I do not have information before Rogers transportation as a convict to Australia and the only link to being a Longford Scally is that was the location he was arrested.

If he is a Longford Scally that you are searching for it would be a nice link for you and hopefully I have helped in someway.

If I can be of further assistance I will help as best as I can.

Regards.

Troy. (Scally descendant).

Western Australia.
AUSTRALIA.
