Can anyone verfy an Edward Masterson - Ireland?

My Uncle lists an Edward Masterson b. 1680, Ireland.
I follow his descendants to me.
Son: Edward Masterson b. 1706, Caroline, VA.
Son: John Masterson b. Nov 1750, Fairfax, VA
Son: Hugh Masterson b. 1770, Nelson, KY
Son: Clark Masterson b. Jun 1814, Spencer, IN
Son: Lewis Clark Masterson b. Jun 1855, Iowa City, Iowa
Son: Hugh E Masterson b. Dec 1878, Claycenter, Nebraska
Daughter: Florence Sunnah Masterson b. Aug 1911, Fairfield, Nebraska (She's my Grandmother).

Do you have any evidence to support any of this?
Especially the Ireland birth? I find a Masterson Family associated with the Bucannan clan in Scotland. Do you know if the pathway to the US came through Ireland or straight from Scotland?
