James O'Donnell dob 1845, m Susan Doherty dob 1845, at the Sacred Heart Church in Carndonagh July 5 1866.
I just learned that John O'Donnell and Elizabeth Carney living in Co Cork around 1860ish at any rate, were James parents. They also had 3 other sons John F (Dec 1854) m
Bridget Doherty(Feb 1861) in Jan 1881, at the Sacred Heart Church in Carndonagh. Patrick born in 1844 we think, who may have gone to England and married Johanna Long. (they would have 4 girls but then Johanna disappears in the US) Patrick married a 2nd time and had Elizabeth who married August Voss(maybe in SD)and William O'Donnell who married Laura Edna Todd(Edna Laura Todd) and Peter (have no information on him. He was we think born before 1844.
Bridgets parents were Neil Doherty 1838-1878(died in Boston MA that year) His wife was Mary Coats(1838-1878 also died in Boston that year, but at seperate times. Bridget had two sisters Ellen dob 1860, and Mary 1862. John F and Bridget immigrated to MA(Stoneham first, later North End of Boston) and had 9 children. Now since I know John F and Patrick immigrated I'm wondering if James and Susan did as well, and if so where and when(sometime between 1883 and 1897 or so perhaps). Their daughter Mary Ann (July 28 1873 was my grandmother and she married Patrick Bradley April 17 1902 at St Peter's in Dorchester(Boston)MA
I hope this isn't too confusing, but I am trying to make the connection between Neil/Mary Coats Doherty and their girls and Susan Doherty(Mary Ann's mother).
Since James and John F both married in Carndonagh at the same church there is a connection there.
Can anyone help ? Does anyone have O'Donnell's, Doherty's from Co Donegal, Co Cork,. Also I'm looking for Owen Doherty, Hannah O'Donnell, Hugh Doherty, Mary and Jamees O'Donnell(seperate couple) who were some of the God parents of my grandmothers sibblings.
Don't expect one person to have all or even most of the answers, but any help would be appreciated.
