Hi Gale,
I spoke to ger. odonoghue today, she is not sure if there have any connection to the Gaffney side or not but she will enquire. At the moment i was looking at www.familysearch.org. the old site, on the I.G.I.. There are 66 michael births listed. i managed to look at the first 14,i was interrupted supposed to be web maintenance. after i have sent this message i will try & look through the rest of them. 3 of the 14 were born outside of marriage in 1816 1817 & 1821. the other 11 are not your relatives. the above seem to be around the Cork Kerry area. I am just trying to find which michael's have a father James. there were donoghue's in the following places also. Antrim, Cavan, Clare, Dublin.
all the best for now.
jim.
