I think this is Mary Leahy and her mother Kate in the 1901 census for Kerry:
The fatherís absent on census night 1901. However heís at home on census night in 1911, so I think itís the right family OK.
They had 5 children, 4 of whom were alive in 1911.
I think the marriage between Daniel Leahy and Catherine (Kate) Carroll is registered in Killarney, Jan Ė Mar 1884 Volume 5, page 301. It seems to be in the indexes with Danielís surname as Healy instead of Leahy which is probably simply a transcription mistake when the records were indexed.
Griffiths Valuation for 1853 shows several Leahy households in Reacaslagh townland. John Leahy junior and Eneas Leahy were jointly farming 72 acres (big by the standards of the time); John Leahy had a house, outbuildings and a garden; William Leahy had a one sixth share of 640 acres.
Reacahlagh is just near the border with Counties Cork & Limerick. Itís about 20 miles east of Tralee on a minor road leading off the R576. Iíd say youíd find the family farm easily enough today.
