Greatgrandfather born 1849 Ireland

Wondering if anyone can help. Looking for my greatgrandfather. His name was Patrick Larner and he was born 1849 in Taum, Galway, Ireland. He married Bridget Renney in Jersey in 1879. He attested in the Royal Artillery in 1867 at age 18. On his marriage certificate it states his father's name as Timothy Larner from Mountbellew, Galway, Ireland and Timothy's occupation is clerk. Patrick died 1899 in England. Any help would be appreciated. I am stuck and have no idea where to continue to search.
