Very interesting information Kim. First, you are right about Margaret Lent. That's our Margaret!. Her Thomas Robert died young. They had 4 boys between 1838 and 1845. They ran the Travellers Rest tavern in Hobart from and he died in 1847 at 36. She then took over the licence but it must have been tough. She married Robert Lent then he took over the pub licence. As step father he was apparently disliked by the boys. Margaret died in 1853 at age 38. So she was born in 1815 or so.
Second, the info. about a Mr Spiller and wife arriving from Liverpool in 1833, into Hobart is very pertinent. Thomas Robert first got a pub licence in 1834 - here is a possibility.They could still have been Irish. Hobart stories imply that.
