Todd/McKeith Families

In 2010 I posted the message below. We have been working nearly 24/7 since then and still have no answers.Just more questions. Has anyone in the last two years come across anything that can tell me where our Todd family who had a son William in Armagh in 1839 went after this. We can find no Census records at all in Ireland or immigration. So many Wiliams!!

"Looking for William Todd(born early 1800) married Mary/Eliza? Hampton born 1812. They had a son William Born about 1839 in Armagh who immigrated to Australia in 1879 together with siblings Hampton(born Abt.1851) and Mary Anne (born Abt.1857). Also with Eliza the mother who was by then a widow.
I believe there was another brother John Colvin Todd who also came to Australia and died here in 1894.

OUR William born 1839 married Rachel Bruce Keith in Edinburgh Scotland in 3rd June 1878 before immigrating to Australia that year. "
On his death Certificate it says he was widowed in New Zealand and we have since found a William Todd married to a Mary Bruce Keith from Argylshire in 1864 and dying in 1874. This William remarried and then divorced. We are trying to prove whether the two Williams are the same person and whether he went back to Scotland and married his first wife's sister. We need to somehow track his entry into New Zealand
