Kimberli,I looked at Irish records for birth of Arthur and Anne. For Arthur there are 2;1886 and 1887 co Armagh. The first is probably an infant who died in childhood, the second your grandfather. For Anna Boyle the only births I could find in co Tipperary for her are 1876,1881,1884,1885.Are you sure she is from county Tipperary?I then looked at the 1901 Irish census for them and found the following: Arthur's family; #10 Ballyginniff,Seacash,co Antrim: Arthur Skelton age 50,head of house, roman catholic, born in co Antrim, married, occupation:fisherman Lena Skelton age 40,wife,roman catholic, born in co Antrim, married Lena Skelton age 7,daughter,roman catholic, born in co Antrim, scholar, single Maggie age 0,daughter,roman catholic, born in co Antrim, single Rosey Skelton age 4,daughter,roman catholic, born in co Antrim, single Patrick J Skelton age 3,son,roman catholic, born in co Antrim, single Thomas Skelton age 12,son,roman catholic, born in co Armagh, scholar, single Arthur Skelton age 14,son,roman catholic, born in co Armagh, single, works as post messenger James H. Skelton age 15,son,roman catholic, born in co Armagh, single, works as fisherman John Skelton age 10,son,roman catholic, born in co Armagh, scholar, single In the 1901 county Tipperary census I found 4 Anna/Anne Boyles but the only problem is that all of them are older than you would expect for someone who supposedly was born in 1896.The 4 I found are: Annie Boyle age 24,daughter,living with parents Thomas and Sarah Annie Boyle age 15,daughter,living with parents Michael and Ellen Anne Boyle age 18,daughter,living with parents Michael and Mary Annie Boyle age 16,listed as a servant living in the Kenny household What I'm thinking is when she went to the US,either her accent was hard to understand or the wrong date was written down so she used the wrong year for her birth. If you could find her marriage cert to Arthur it should have her parents names and then you'd know if one of these Annes is her.If you go onto the website http://www.portal.health.state.pa.us it explains to you how to get a marriage cert in Pennsylvania.I believe they married between 1921-1935.I could not locate Arthur and Anne in the 1930 census(they may have not been home when it was taken)but the 1940 census is due out in about 45 days so it would be worth looking at to see if it has any useful info. The births for Arthur's brothers and sisters are: James Henry Skelton 1885 co Armagh Thomas Skelton 1889 co Armagh John Skelton 1890 co Armagh Selina Skelton 1893 co Antrim Rose Skelton 1896 co Antrim Patrick Joseph Skelton 1898 co Antrim Margaret Skelton 1901 co Antrim next is Arthur's immigration record; Arthur Skelton age 23 born @ 1888 in Ireland male single nationality:British race:Irish occupation:farm labourer can read and write last permanent residence:Antrim name and address of nearest relative from whence came:mother Lena Skelton Ballyginnilly,co Antrim departed:Derry,Ireland arrived:New York,New York on 6 November 1911 aboard the ship Columbia final destination:Pittsburg,Pennsylvania Hope this helps,Kim (PS this is 1st of 2 part message) Notify Administrator about this message?
