Hi Kathleen,
Thank you for your response. Yes, that is my g-grandfather, Thomas Tierney. He was actually born in 1819. Charles is Thomas's brother. There was a third brother, Michael, b 1828, d 1868. We have not been able to find any birth or baptismal records for the boys in Ireland. I just found Margaret yesterday, while doing some research. All of the Tierneys in Jessenland were "my" Tierneys. The Healys arrived in Sibley county before the three boys did, and I'm wondering if that is part of the reason the boys came to the area. There is a gap of 7 years between Charles and Michael, and we suspect that there were other pregnancies, if not births. Margaret's BD puts her in that gap. I am just beginning to research her, but posted on several boards in case someone knew something of this family.
