Ross,I just got the info that was hazy on John Mullen/Jane Ramsay's marriage cert. This is it in my entirety:

1903
Thirtieth day of January
St Catherine's church
Slateford Rd,Edinburgh
after publication according to the forms of the Roman Catholic church
John Mullen
age 29 bachelor
quarry labourer of Longstone,Slateford
father:Thomas Mullen(deceased)
mother:Bridget Mullen ms McGaughney
married
Jane Cooper Ramsay
age 25 spinster
brickfield worker of Longstone,Slateford
father:Alexander Ramsay (labourer)
mother:Mary Cooper Ramsay ms Binnie
signed:John Forsyth HC clergyman
St Cuthbert's,Slateford Road,Edinburgh
witnesses:Thos Mullen/Anne Ramsay

also came across this;
1891 Scotland census
Bridget Mullen age 63,head of house, widow, housekeeper, born in Ireland
John Mullen son,age 20,unmarried,oil labourer,born in Cambusnethan,Lanarkshire
Thomas Mullen grandson,age 13,unmarried,scholar,born Currie,MidLothian
Thomas Connor age 26,married,oil labourer, born in N.K. MidLothian
Bridget Connor daughter,age 25,married,born in Cambusnethan,Lanarkshire
Kate Connor granddaughter,age 1,single,born in Corstorphine,MidLothian

and this:
Thomas Mullen
married
Bridget McGachnie
on 25 April 1855 Lanark,Lanarkshire,Scotland

Thomas must have died between 1871-1891.If you can find his death cert it will probably have his parents on it.Hope this helps,Kim

1891 Scotland census
Bridget Mullen head of house, widow, age 63,housekeepe
