Jaycee,after checking passenger lists and the census again I think I may have found James.According to what was reported on the census he immigrated in 1910.I found a James McGee arriving in 1910 from Ireland;

James McGee
age:24 born approx.1886
born in Ireland
other place of birth:Carrickmacon
ship departed from Liverpool,England
ship arrived New York,New York
on 31 October 1910
ship:Caronia
last place of residence:Ardee
nearest relation from whence came:James McGee-father,Carrickmacross

I then went back to birth records and found the following 2;
James McGee born 1883 co Monaghan
James Joseph McGee born 1887 co Monaghan
I would say the second James is the one you seek.The first was probably another son who died in childhood and they named their next son James as well(a common practice).Hope this helps,Kim
