In 1853, Griffiths Valuation just lists 2 people named John Flood in Co Wexford. One lived in the townland of Grange Upper, parish of Killann. The other in Rochestown, parish of Duncormick. If you get no other leads you could concentrate your search on those two parishes. You could check the relevant parish records for family births etc, if they have survived.
