I received the newspapers but could not find any reference to anyone I should know. Can Sarah tell what pages in each newspaper I should study?
On the bright side, I did get information on the death and burial of John M's daughter Roselia Beatrice McGill Shaw. I knew her as Nana I just could not remember when she died. She was quite a lady, could argue with the best of them, drink with the best of them, was the original "bag lady" and generous and loving to a fault. She once had a gardner whose lady friend worked for my grandmother. When this lady gave birth to their 4th child my grandmother and "Nana" toook the man in hand, took him to get a marriage liscence, a ring, and a suit - they paid for it all. Then they took my grandmother's maid to pick out a dress when she was ready and they took them to City Hall to get married. Then there was a small party at Nana's for their family - infant and all. They were going to be sure he did right by this lady! We were once told she was an attorney but I do not know this for sure. I have a friend who can check that out for me.
