Thomas and Mary Heavey Immigration info 1845 - 1852

I am hoping that someone can provide an update on a posting from July 2001.

"I am the descendant of Thomas Heavey (born Ireland 18??) and Maria Gavin (born Ireland 18??). Thomas and Maria had a child in Ireland and then two children in Chicago. Family "rumor" has it that three (or four) Heavey brothers came to America about 1851.

Their child Thomas Heavey (born Chicago 19 March 1858) married Isabella Kirby (born 17 March 1867 in Chicago). They had 6 children; Ellen Irene Heavey, Patrick Henry Heavey, Mary Catherine Heavey, Thomas John Heavey, Frank Heavey and Bernard Joseph Heavey."

I have confirmed that the two children born in the US were not both born in Chicago, their daughter Rose was born in New York City in May of 1853, which means that they arrived in the US prior to that time (my guess would be New York City since their daughter was born there). I have not been able to find any info on the child born in Ireland, but my cousin thinks it may have been a Patrick H Heavey born between 1844 and 1847.

According to her Death Certificate, Mary Gavin Heavey was 70 when she died in February of 1890, so her birth year would have been either 1819 or early 1820. Thomas passed on in 1885. I have not been able to locate his death certificate yet to get more information to lead to his age, but I think his birthdate would be around the same time as Mary.

I have been looking through the immigration information and cannot find where they came to the US, let alone the three or four Heavey brothers coming over around 1851. In one of the responses back, it was mentioned that the 4 brothers story was familiar. Does anyone have any more information on any of these brothers? Maybe I can locate some information if I have one or more of the other brothers name.

Any help would be appreciated.
