Seeking info on Thomas Cowan & Isabelle Hewitt (see Ancestry - Glenn's Family Tree.
Seeking death date for Isabella (Isabelle/Esabella) (Hewitt) Cowan
Thomas COWAN(bn 1820)and Isabella HEWITT (bn 1823)left Ireland for Canada (family(ies) disapproved their marriage - one had money, the other had name). Did they marry in Ireland? They sailed to Canada approx 1840 timeframe, lived in Hillier Prince Edward County Ontario - 1851 census shows them with 4 children Mary Jane (11), Robt John (9), Elizabeth (7), Thomas (3). They moved to a homestead in Clearwater Manitoba.
Thomas dd 09 June 1882 in Clearwater MB, Isabella sold the
MB homestead, moved by cart and ox to North Dakota USA, living with single son Thomas. Isabelle Cowan took out
US citzenship April 1887.
1891 Isabella visiting Joseph & (dgtr) Elizabeth (Cowan) Locklin in Trenton Ontario.
1900 Isabelle (76) is back in Towner North Dakota with son Thomas (48).
