Where did they marry? Who were Ellen's siblings?

I see ref to "The Rev. Thomas Patterson Mullens" at Trinity in Dublin in the late 1890s.

You should be able to see this family in the 1901 census:

Here are Sam & Ellen in 1911:

Ellen says she was born in England in 1885 - image:

Shaw Samuel 34 Male Head of Family Ch of Ireland Dublin Surveying Dept Slater Commissions Read and write - Married - - - -
Shaw Ellen Dorothy Gladys 26 Female Wife Ch of Ireland England - Read and write - Married - 6 2 2
Shaw Gerald Clark 3 Male Son Ch of Ireland Co Dublin - Cannot read - Single - - - -
Shaw Bernard Samuel 2 Male Son Ch of Ireland Co Dublin - Cannot read - Single - - - -
Donae Maggie 27 Female Servant Roman Catholic

I don't see Ellen in 1901 - do you? Search with an asterick on MULL* ...

Your posting:

My wife is descended form MULLINS and SHAW families from Ireland. Samuel SHAW married Ellen MULLINS in 1904. Ellens father was a Thomas Patterson MULLINS and the paterson name seems to occur previously. My wife's grandfather Dennis also had Hamilton as one of his names and in fact (for some reason yet to be determined) adopted it as a hyphenated surname in about 1950. As such my wife's maiden name is HAMILTON-SHAW. Clearly there is a link with MULLINS, PATTERSON and HAMILTON but where it all begins I am not sure
