Once again, thank you Ralph and Elwyn. I really appreciate your help. All my Shea's and O'Shea's are Roman Catholic. The definite info i have (from IFHF record certs)is John Shea m Ellen Barry Youghal 12 Oct 1826, James Shea and John Carty witnesses. (no other info on them)They had Stephen Shea bap 26 Dec 1828 Youghal, sponsors Michael Burke & Elizabeth Shea; John Shea bap 9 Oct 1831 Youghal James Hobbart and Margaret Carty sponsors, Catherine (Kate) Shea bap 14 May 1834 Youghal Walker (?Walter) Shea and Mary Joyce sponsors; Ann Shea bap 28 Nov 1836 Youghal, Declan Foley and Margaret Foley sponsors. If John sr was born about 1806/7 AND died in Youghal, there is a Death in the Irish civil Reg Indexes 1845-1958 for a John O'Shea died Apr-Jun 1/4 1881 aged 75, who i wonder may be the same John who married Ellen and had our John jr, who's name had also changed to O'Shea. If he happened to be born in Youghal too, there is a John Shea bap 18 May 1807 Father Thomas Shea mother Johanna Colbert, Richard Kenedy and M Carty sponsors. I thought this MAY be our John's father because of the Carty witnesses/sponsors in both generations. YDNA Testing has proven that we originated in South Kerry before arriving in County Cork, and have close connection with James Shea b 1795 in Liscasey Clare. The is just this gap that we need to fill to connect, but also i want to know more about my own John's family. Thank you.
