Byrne/ Pender or Pendergast from Co. Wexford

My great-grandfather John Byrne was born in 1839/1840 and married Catherine Pender or Pendergast around 1860. He was a soldier in the british army and served in Nova Scotia and Gibraltar where the family finally settled. i know nothing about their parents and siblings and would welcome any information about them.
