I'm still dead ended with the Butler and Willoughby branches.I have worked with another researcher who is doing a lot of work on the protestants who lived in Kilkenny and he is trying to tie all the families together. Turns out a lot of the were planted there to colonize the area and some were there to work in the coal mines.I have done the Garland DNA and am on Family Tree DNA so if you search that site you will see my results which represent every male Garland descendent of William.I haven't made any connections yet but hopefully soon.I have a hunch they came from England, possibly Bristol before going to Ireland. The DNA does not have any Celtic connection but shows a strong northern European subclade, probably Norse or Anglo Saxon.
Do you have any info on the Butlers or Willoughbys?
Rob.
