I searched the Irish Family History Foundation's database. I found matching marriage rcds for Robert Alexander and Deborah Macklin, in 1848, in Co. Down, in the parish of Newry.
Google this foundation's name to get to the database. If you view a detailed rcd of either party in this marriage it MAY reveal the names of both parents. The detailed rcd also MAY reveal the couple's address/residence/occupation, etc.
I further searched for a marriage of John Macklin in Co. Tyrone for 1824 +/- 4 yrs. I found 0 matches. Switching to an "all Ireland" search, I still found 0 M rcds. Rcds B4 1840 are sparse.
For offspring, I entered the surname Alexander for the period 1853 +/- 4 yrs. Assuming the parents remained in Co. Down, I found 12 possible matches. It looks like there were two or more families with the surname Alexander in Co. Down. None of the matches were in the parish of Newry. It looks like the couple settled in a different parish; perhaps in a different county.
Will leave it to you to sort this out.
