Quinn Ardboe, Cookstown Tyrone
My great grandmother Mary Ann Quinn was born in 1881 in Tyrone in the Parish of Ardboe (I've seen spelled Ardoe, too).
I believe that's in/near Cookstown (please correct me if I'm wrong). I've seen the name Magherafelt in connection with her family, too.
Mary was in Boston by 1908 (based on a dated photo) where she stayed, went on to marry John Timothy Burns, raise my grandmother and die in 1945.
Mary's parents were Bartholomew and Sarah (Conway) Quinn. I don't know if they emigrated or stayed in Ireland. Best I can tell, they stayed put.
Among her siblings were Annie, Nell, Rose and Bartholomew. There are about 4 more but I have a kitten on my lap while I type and can't get up to look!
=)
Does any of this sound familiar? Can anyone help me extend my search?
Thanks!
