I agree that there must be a conection of our families somewhere. I don't have much more information than what I've already sent to you, however. Oral family history says Ann Maria Butler's father was George , but I haven't found him in Ireland yet. One of Ann Maria's grandchildren was named Charles George Butler Willoughby which would bear this out. Charles Willoughby's father may have been William, as that is what he named his 1st son, but no proofs yet.
We know that Charles & Ann lived in Banogue near Gorey, Co. Wexford at least from 1838 to the time of their emigration about 1854-6 to Canada. (from Baptism records in Christchurch Anglican in Gorey)The eldest daughter that we have a record for was Maria, born about 1829 (from her death record in Canada). Perhaps the family did live in Kilkenny before 1838.
