Hi there:
We could well be into the same family....ohgloryday LOL.
I will try to explain.
I have from the Griffith Valuation 1848-1864
Alex Weir.....Ballyscuillion East(based on Thomas birth date below guessing Alex could have been born c 1790
wife Isabella Weir
son Jervis Weir guessing born c1815-1818
son Thomas Weir..1819-1823
through Thomas (mine)born 1819-1823
his son Jervis born 1857 died in Canada at age 16
brother to this Jervis (1857)was Thomas and he had
son Jervis born 1885 in Canada.
Note the name Isabella..wife of Alex and daughter of your Jervis 1860
Further the name Isabella appeared in my family twice more in two following generations.(Canada) To me that indicates a traditional family name.
We know my Thomas 1819-1923 left N. Ireland alone for Scotland and married there. Likely leaving his brother Jervis in N. Ireland.
I have made contact with a living Weir in the same area of N. Ireland who states this is the first generation they have not had a Jervis in the family. I gather other Weir families do not carry the name Jervis.
You may well come through Jervis brother to my line Thomas. You may be directly connected to the Weir family I found already in N.Ireland.
I will be in N.Ireland early next month......if you can come up with anything more that I might use when I get there it would be so interesting.
thank you....we might be cousins. Please email me at the addy given here.
