Hi Roger,Many thanks for your help.My family of BOOMERS start with a Henry Boomer born c1815 in County Down area-probably Connor. He married & had a son c1832 called James.I do not know the name of Henry,s wife.James married in 1854 in Shore Street Presbyterian Church in Donaghaee. He married a Jane MAWHINNEY.They had several children including :Agnes,William,Margaret,Annie,James,Isabella etc.The James mentioned in the previous sentence was born c1861-he is my gggrandfather. Both James senior & junior were blacksmith/farriers-a trade associated with a number of Boomers. The family moved to Barrow-in-Furness,Lancashire c1875.They settled in Fenton Street,Barrow-in-Furness & opened a blacksmiths forge on Back Dalton Road-just at the top of Fenton Street.Younger James married an Elizabeth Parish-a blacksmiths striker. They also had several children including Elizabeth who is my ggrandmother. She married Robert Kell-also a blacksmiths striker,in 1905.They had a son-amongst others, called James-he was my grandfather. They also had a daughter called Hannah-my wifes grandmother.I do have indications that there were many more Boomers who stayed in Ireland.I do have history well before 1815 & Henry, but need to be 1005 positive before adding to my family tree. These Boomers you mention will probably originate from same French Huguenots who came to Ireland pre Battle of the Boyne 1690 & settled in Lisburn. Many thanks for all your help Rodger,I look forward to hearing from you.I have entered ALL my current Boomer info on "Genes Reunited" site.I don,t know if you are a member or not.PS:My history teacher at school was a Rodger Stubbings-any relation?
